SAAP – A practice built on strong and complementary paths
SAAP Architecture was founded by two architects with extensive experience, who have worked for over fifteen years in diverse settings — public and private architecture firms, international projects, competitions, major public facilities, and sensitive transformations of the existing built environment.
While the agency is young, its approach is built on solid foundations: a combined experience across all project phases and scales — from the restructuring of historic buildings to the design of large-scale infrastructure.
It is also grounded in a shared method: observe with precision, build with care, coordinate efficiently, and anticipate with clarity.
Géraud Pizon and Aodren Antien share the same commitment: to design within reality, integrating material, regulatory, social, and technical parameters — while also opening architecture to new formats, narratives, and horizons.
Within SAAP, this complementarity is reflected in a dynamic balance between transforming the built environment and envisioning new scenarios — driven by an ongoing logic of dialogue, reversibility, and constructive engagement.
Aodren Antien – Architecte DE & cofondateur
A graduate of the École Spéciale d’Architecture (ESA – Paris), Aodren Antien has spent nearly twenty years developing a practice at the intersection of architectural design, visual representation, and project strategy.
Alongside this, he has developed recognized expertise in architectural visualization, as well as a personal focus on mobility systems, territorial infrastructures, and the transformation of the existing built environment. These approaches converge today within SAAP, which he co-founded in 2023 to bridge image, design, strategic thinking, and built reality.
Géraud Pizon – Architecte DE & directeur général
A graduate of the École Spéciale d’Architecture, Géraud Pizon worked in both France and Switzerland in agencies renowned for their constructive rigor, attention to detail, and contextual grounding (AAVP, Gaëtan Le Penhuel Architectes, and Cathrin Trebeljahr Architecte). These experiences shaped his rigorous approach, rooted in the control of the construction process, expressive restraint, and lifecycle awareness.
For over 15 years, he has worked on both public and private projects — housing, daycares, healthcare facilities, cultural venues — with a strong focus on technical studies, construction phases, and multidisciplinary coordination.
In parallel, he has developed an independent artistic practice — drawing, painting, graphic composition — which sharpens his sensitivity to materials, atmospheres, and spatial rhythms.
As co-founder and managing director of SAAP Architecture, he grounds the agency’s pragmatic and operational approach — with constant attention to process, feasibility, and the thoughtful transformation of existing structures.
Beyond built and ongoing projects, SAAP pursues a continuous process of exploration — through internal research, international competitions, and more experimental work, tied to themes developed since our academic years: responsible standardization, mobility, constructive resilience, and user-based adaptation.
This project-based culture has been enriched over time by the founders’ professional experiences — in architecture firms, on site, and across diverse international contexts — but also through an ongoing dialogue with architectural practices and figures whose concerns they share: structural clarity, material integrity, site response, and constructive logic.
Agencies such as SANAA, EM2N, Bruther, Chipperfield, Chartier Dalix, or Dominique Perrault have, directly or indirectly, helped shape their perspective — through past collaborations, competition encounters, or parallel trajectories.
It is at this intersection of built practice, critical thinking, and experimentation that SAAP continues to refine its approach: rigorous, contextual, and focused on the essential.
